Switching Flight?!?

Just a quick Question . .

Ive booked a vacation to DR staying at a resort for one week. but im planning on staying for a few months at my apartment. So i was wondering if it was possible for me to change my return flight that came with my vacation package for a later date?

If you have time to ask the question here, I wonder why you can't call the airline to check. Chances are, with money paid, anything is possible.
