My 5 week old has been using the soothie from the hospital but we were given a really cute pacifier that is shaped different and is 0 to 6month. Can I switch this early and what is the best way to switch?

  1. Sure try it out!! Definitely be aware though that the babe may not like it. My daughter, now 3 weeks loves the soothie and that is the only one she likes. I tried the gerber ones and one other kind and she gets very angry! lol.

  2. sure. you're the mom.

  3. Just give the baby the new one.  If he/she doesn't like it...you will be able to tell.  My youngest was a pacifier baby and she liked all different kinds.

  4. I'm sure the switch won't traumatize him.  My daughter had been using two different types of pacifiers since we took away the one from the hospital.  She's never had a problem.

  5. Yes, you can try to switch but just be prepared for your baby possibly not liking the new one. I've found my little guy only likes MAM pacifiers and we've tried them ALL. Some babies are picky while others don't care. Go ahead and try but don't get rid of the Soothies just yet.
