Switching contact brand?

Do I have to get a prescription from my eye doctor for ordering different contacts from for example 1-800 Contacts?What my question is,is my eye doctor gave me the contact brand AVAIRA,but I am wondering if I can order Acuvue or any other contact brand instead of AVAIRA.Do I have to have a prescription form my eye doctor to order contacts from a different brand other than AVAIRA?I have two different prescriptions for each eye.My eyes have different prescriptions.

    you always need a new prescription for ordering new contacts.

I will allow my patients to try another brand within one year of their exam without charging a new fitting fee.  Ask your doctor to let you try.  The Avaira lenses are exceptional.  You should try them.  If you don't like them as much as your other lenses, tell your doctor.  You optometrist will change you back.

  3. Yes, you do, but I don't know why.  Maybe your optician will just write a new rx for the ones you want.  I don't see why you have to be fitted again if they are the same type of lens.
