Question:

Switching from Virtual School to Public School?

I went into 9th grade this year, went to highschool for a few months; hated it. I couldn't focus and I got horrible grades. I started FLVS, a virtual school for Florida. I passed this year with A's and B's, but I dropped Math halfway through. I plan on doing FLVS for 10th grade because I did so well, but I would like to go back to highschool for 11th and 12th grade. I plan on dropping Science as well for 10th grade.

So when I finish 10th grade but still at the Science and Math level of a 9th grader, would they even let me back into highschool?

Virtual school gives you your GED, no matter if you drop main courses because homeschooling allows your parents to choose what they do and don't want taught to you.

So would I be able to go back into 11th grade even though I hadn't taken Science and Math? Would they just put me into a 9th grade Math and Science class, while the rest of my classes are 11th grade classes? Would I be able to get my highschool diploma?

If anyone knows what I'm talking about or can help me, please help me (:

  1. You have to have a certain number of credits per subject.  If you go back to public school now, you will have to make up the credits before you graduate.  If you drop electives and the school lets you do that, you'll be taking two science and two maths per year to graduate on time with your classmates.  That is the rule in AR, maybe in FL there are different criteria, call your local school board and ask.  They can tell you or send you to someone who can.
