I've been taking atenolol, 25 mg/day, for 3 years for anxiety, tachycardia and PVCs. I've been experiencing a resurgence of PVCs lately, and today my doctor gave me a prescription for Inderal LA. Is Inderal effective for these kinds of problems that I have? I've been researching since I got home, but I haven't found any good info about the drug. Also worried about side effects since I haven't really had any that I've noticed on atenolol.

  1. Here is a website that I use a lot to check out new medicines. Maybe it can help you answer your questions.

  2. How old are may I ask? I'm 24 and am new to all of this, I'm a cardiac critical care nurse actually and lately I have been having tachycardia that puts me in the 150's resting. I'm on metoprolol XL 12.5 mg and I have yet to have seen a cardiologist, this is what the er doc put me on.Are we allowed to drink alcohol on these cardiac meds?/

  3. Nothing to worry about, LA means Long Acting. Both are beta blockers.
