Im sixteen years old, a sophomore at a run down and under performing dallas public school. All schools in the dallas district are the same. I live pretty close to highland park, a very wealthy area in DFW. They have really good schools there. Only I couldn't go there because I don't live in that area, so im stuck at this hellhole of a school.

What can I do about transferring?

  1. go to private school

  2. work hard and get your parents to help u transfer out. like go to the district or something. fill out the transfer form for another school. speak 2 ya counsler. i was a 15 year old kid with da same problem. i did these things and i got out in like march

  3. i know exactly what you are going through.. i went to this ghetto *** school this year.. [[freshmen]] and all the schools in this area are like this. But i got kicked out of my house and now i live closer to this wealthier area with a lot better schools. So i used a different address.. if you know anyone who lives in the area of your school's zone then simply ask them if you can use their address and therefor you can get a better edu. most people will say yes.

  4. You probably can't transfer.

    Some options to consider:

    1) Homeschooling.

    2) Online schooling or correspondence schooling (you would have to pay for these).

    3) Private school.

    4) After-schooling--meaning, whatever they suck at teaching you at school, you make sure to learn afterwards, even going beyond what a good public school would do, if you can. Move ahead in textbooks. Get extra resources from the library to help you with things you don't understand. Read extra things related to any history classes. Go the extra mile, essentially. Learn to the level you would like to learn at and don't be satisfied with anything less. You don't NEED a teacher to learn; you don't NEED a school that performs great. Yes, they're helpful, but there's a lot you can do for yourself on your own (this applies to any of the above situations, too!).

  5. why not give it it a try... after all you can't go to the school you

like because you are far away from that... you still have options, if your parents will allow you.  or you can try private

schools... all you have to do is to make a little investigation

about what you want to have in every school...

  6. Not much

  7. Tell your parent that you don't like the school you in because bad environment or you can't get educated not the best school.

  8. what does this have to do with homeschooling.

but hey I got an aunt that live in the DFW area that I'm am going to visit in august.

she lives in Arlington right between the 2

  9. go to the school you like, or be home schooled. idk!

  10. well if you want to cheat the system try getting a PO box in the area of that school. if you have a friend you can use their address. Or if i am not mistaken they should allow you to transfer by paying some money and some one could drive you to the school.
