We are switching over to "green" cleaners, but still have quite a lot of the other kind. How do you dispose of these correctly? Thanks!

  1. I agree to go ahead and use them or give them away.  Then someone can recycle those bottles.

  2. They've already been produced, packaged, and shipped so most of the environmental damage has already been done. Use them or find someone that will. It doesn't do any favors for them to simply be disposed of, go to waste, and be replaced with yet another product that needs to be produced, packaged, and shipped.

  3. If you live in or near a city you can take them to the local household hazardous waste depot.  They dispose of them safely there and with a smaller impact on the environment.  You can also take old batteries, paint, etc. to them for proper disposal.  Just google your city name and household hazardous waste and something should pop up.

  4. You have 3 choices:

    1 use them up

    2 give them away

3 if you throw them away they should be considered hazardous waste.

  5. give them away

  6. You might as well use them up. One way or another they will wind up being used as directed or just put into a landfill. If you would rather not use them yourself, offer them to a neighbor.
