Switch’s winning form will help her secure the victory in the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar
Switch is ready to land yet another victory in the Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar on 4th August, 2012, where she will race with high hopes and immense expectation.
Paired with jockey Martin Garcia, she will attempt to bolt through the 1 1/16 mile track, and take home the money.
The confidence of her connections was restored in her, when she secured victory in the Grade 2 A Gleam Handicap at the Betfair Hollywood Park, where she aced the seven furlong track.
Trained by John Sadler for owner CRK Stable, the mare has had a tough time and faced a few setbacks over the course of her career. She competed in the Clement Hirsch Stakes last year and finished third.
In her bad patch, the mare competed and lost the Grade 1 Santa Margarita Stakes, the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Stakes, the Grade 1 Vanity Handicap, the Grade 2 Thoroughbred Club of America, and the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
Determined to give, Switch, a tough time on the track is the Chilean bred, Amani, who is trained by Neil Drysdale.
Coming from a victory in the Grade 1 Clasico St. Leger over 1 3/8 miles, the filly seems to be in good shape.
The daughter of Morning Raider completed the race in 2 minutes and 19.13 seconds. Quick Casablanca finished as a runner-up, while the third place was secured by Feliz De Vivir.
She is the biggest threat to Switch on the track, since she has an impressive record of 10-1-1 in her 12 starts.
Switch, daughter of Quiet American, out of mare Antoniette, broke her eight race losing streak in the A Gleam Handicap and is ready for more.
She has the capability and skill, and all she needs is to put in a little effort and she will be good to go. She hasn’t raced over this distance for some time, and will have to stretch herself a little.
