Swithing colleges?

I'm currently going to a D2 school with a volleyball scholarship and after i get my basics done i'm considering changing to another school that would have my major. [[D1 or D2]] What would i need to do to transfer and would i have to sit out year from playing? would i still get a scholarship? how soon should i start looking?

You may or may not have to sit out a year.  It really depends on the school you are currently attending.  If you want to play for the arch rival for your current school, plan on sitting out a year.  Most schools will release you if you leave them on good terms AND you do not play for your rivals.  

You should start looking right away.  If you are trying to get a scholarship at a new school, the coach needs to start planning on you now.  If the coach wants to offer you a scholarship, they need to figure on who else they are going to recruit.
