Switzerland versus Czech Republic– Under 21 European Championship semi finals: Second half review (Part 2)
Czech Republic stepped up their efforts to score the first goal of their U-21 European Championships semi-final encounter against Switzerland in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 in the second half but their frustrations were evident when Milan Cerny was
booked up the referee as he was adjudged to have used his elbow in an aerial challenge against Koch in the Swiss penalty area. The replays showed that Cerny was lucky to escape with just a yellow card as he had intentionally elbowed the Swiss defender in his
head.
In the 69th minute, Emeghara was clean through on goal with time and space at his disposal after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xherdan-Shaqiri-c37074 found his team’s striker inside the Czech penalty area with a beautifully timed cross. Emeghara thought
he had scored with his header but in the end his headed effort was wide of the Czech goal as the score line remained at nil all.
In the 71st minute, Xabier Hochstrasser was replaced by Amir Abrashi for the Swiss U-21 contingent as Shaqiri and co. went for broke in search of the winning goal in their U-21 European Championships semi-final against

In the 76th minute, Emeghara had another glorious chance to score for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016 but the Swiss striker failed to collect the ball cleanly as his first touch allowed the Czech Republic goal keeper to rush out of his
six yard box and smother the ball at his feet. In the 78th minute, Switzerland U-21 team made another substitution as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabian-Frei-c13103 in the midfield department.
In the 83rd minute, Czech Republic responded with a substitution of their own as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Chramosta-c17754 replaced the outgoing Jan Marecek. With the match hanging in the balance both the teams went all out for a winner in the
dying stages of the second half. Shaqiri came closest for Switzerland when he struck the post in the 87th minute. The Swiss winger shifted inside to his left foot and unleashed a brilliant effort at Tomas Vaclik’s goal. However the ball struck the
post and went out of play for a goal kick.
Nonetheless the second half of the U-21 European Championships semi-final between Czech Republic and Switzerland came to a close with the score line at nil all as both the teams prepared themselves for an intense extra time period.
