Swollen, hurting throat.?

My throat has been hurting quite badly for the past few days. It feels incredibly swollen, hurts to swallow, but these symptoms disappear for a few hours every so often. There are white formations in the back. The swelling persists no matter what I do.

If the white bits are on your tonsils, most likely you have septic tonsillitis, go to the doctor and get some antibiotics, and he may give you some painkillers too.
