Swollen and painful t******e help?

Question

My friend has had this happen twice. Once, after s*x a few months ago, and just recently while just being at work. One of his testicles gets swollen and painful. The first time, ice helped and it went away in a day or so. This time, it has been a few days and he is having pain walking. He went to the ER and they did a sonogram, but found nothing. They also checked for cancer and a few other things, but also nothing. Have any guys had this happen to them? What causes this? What are treatments? (OTC preferably)

It could probably be a buildup in fluid. That is called hydrocele. The type of doctor you should see for that problem is called a Urologist.

he should check for testicular torsion. i don't mean to freak you out but if its not treated straight away they have to remove your testicles

ok, 3 things i can tell youto help and it works cuz it happened to my big brother and it works. 1, stop having s*x for a week or 2 so it will stop having action and has no reason to be touched in a way. 2, ice it for 30 mins and should start to fell it tingle, may equal to a bit of pain for the first 5 mins. is that dont work, go to the doctors and say u have a build up of fluid in the t******e/sack. they will either give u tablets which you take 1 a day.. or they will ive a choice of a opperation which with release the fluid out of the t******e and that will be painfull for up to 3 weeks. Hope that should help and takecare.

First I'm a a female and I don't have the slightest idea, but I'd say tell him to book an appointment with a specialist or something.
