Swollen lymph node behind ear? infection or what?

behind my right ear i have a swollen lymph node it isn't to big. i don't feel sick or anything. so what might it be? i just noticed it a few days ago after swimming in freezing water =) at ocean

  1. Very likely nothing to worry about.  Lymph nodes commonly swell up if the body is fighting off a minor infection or virus.  

    As a rule you should see a doctor if:

    * The node appeared for no apparent reason

    * It continues to enlarge

    * The node feels hard or fixed

    * The swollen node is accompanied by fever, night sweats or unexplained weight loss

    * If the node is red, warm and tender

    If the node isn't gone in say a week, I'd ask my doctor about it just to be safe.
