Swollen tastebuds around piercing?

around the top part of my tongue piercing, the tastebuds around it are swollen i guess, it doesnt hurt at all tho. its been there for a few days. i've had it done for almost two and a half weeks. i changed the bar after a week and i went to a wedding saturday and i'm thinking maybe the lemon lime carbonation might have irritated it. when will it go away?

Ahhhhh...does the term "Infection" come to mind ??? I know a number of people with a variety of piercing's and infection can be a life changing experience...Have you ever seen anyone with a third of their nose missing, or half their tongue gone or no ear lobe to hang anything on ? I have and it's not a pretty sight...Give a little serious thought to seeing an MD to make sure what is causing the discomfort...The old saying is really true...it's "Better safe than sorry"...Good luck and I wish you well.

rinse with  warm salty water it helps with any irritations ive ever had give it some time dont irritate it more and if it doesnt hurt then u probably dont have anything to worry about anyway

EDIT:haha people think a piercing is always gonna cause death and c**p no u will be fine and there is no infection if there is no discharge or discomfort lol just keep rinsing with salt water it tastes nasty but its so wonderful and rinse with mouth wash for a while still keep an eye on it and be smart. i have several piercings all of which i did myself except for my tongue and the secret is be clean and take good care of them. i did mess up and i got a staph infection once (nothing u ever want to deal with) and the only reason it happened was cuz i was careless i thought just cuz it was maybe healed i didnt need to clean my jewelery any more and i would take it out and put it in my pockets and then just put it in yea dumb always clean ur jewelery before u put it in even if its brand new and u will have no problems ive never had a problem since i learned my lesson. only idiots who never should have had a piercing end up with those problems
