Sword Of Destiny cuts down the competition in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Beginners Chase

The Gigginstown House Stud had more than one reason to celebrate over the last weekend. The operation did not land one but three races on the same card at Navan race course. The six-year-old, Sword Of Destiny, won the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders
Fund Beginners Chase. The Irish grey gelding had onboard none other than jockey, Davy Russell.
The team resorted to a composed start which meant that they stayed in the rear of the two miles and a furlong track. They notched up to the third position in the field of seven once half the track distance went down. They progressed for the wire gradually,
and keeping a firm grip on the approach, Sword Of Destiny raced second just when the final furlong was on the horizon.
Taking charge of the final six lengths, they set Darwins Fox as the runner-up.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Tadhg.
The winning trainer, Noel Meade, stated:
"He had such a hard race the last day (Punchestown, October 31) that we had to go easy on him.”
"I decided to come back in trip and it worked out on that ground. I think this is a h**l of a horse and he was unlucky the last day.”
"The original plan was to go for the Drinmore (Fairyhouse, December 2) had he won at Punchestown, but I'm not sure where he will go now. We will have to see how he fits in with the other Gigginstown horses."
The other source of pride for the operation was, Tofino Bay, who won the Ladbrokes Troytown Handicap Chase.
"There aren't too many horses like heavy ground and he actually likes it.”
Shantou’s grey gelding penetrated the new season by striking a second position in the Ballymore Christmas Fair & Family Fun November Festival on 31st October, 2012 at Punchestown over two miles and four furlongs.
A second score followed by a victory reflects the strength of the form of the six-year-old grey gelding out of, Sparkling Sword.
The connections have selected for him the stops that will suit him the most, and will make him grow in order to contest way more challenging and come with more lucrative prize money.
