Syahroni Arif overpowers Faisal to advance into next level of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open
Indonesia’s Syahroni Arif stretched his impressive winning streak as he overpowered Faisal in Men’s Singles second round at the Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 on Monday, May 14, in Indonesia.
Syahroni showed his remarkable skills in his contest against Faisal and remained successful in winning the battle in three games with a tight margin on the board.
It was a mouth-watering fight when both shuttlers entertained the home fans by putting up tremendous show and maintained their interest until the ending moment of the match.
It was Syahroni who managed to win the final set in a thrilling way as he ended it with a dramatic margin on the board.
On the other hand, Faisal also played tremendous badminton in the whole match and matched the speed and perfection of his rival until the ending points when he failed to play positive game and lost the match with a tight score.
In the opening set, both shuttlers played fast and positive badminton and also remained close in the first half.
After the 60-second break, they continued with equal pace while remaining toe-to-toe on the score board. However, it was Syahroni who took the ending points and won the set with a 21-19 score on the board.
In the second game, it was Faisal who dictated the pace from opening points and managed to remain ahead of his rival until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Syahroni tried to live up to expectations by accelerating his speed but failed to dominate the pace and lost the set by a margin of 17-21.
In the decider, both men put up fabulous show and kept the tempo of rallies quite fast. The score remained tight until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, both shuttlers continued playing tremendous badminton while remaining quick in all areas of the court.
The score was 24-24 when Syahroni played smart badminton and took two consecutive points to grab the set with a stunning margin of 26-24.
The in-form Syahroni won this thrilling 76-minute rubber-set fight with a tremendous 21-19, 17-21 and 26-24 score on the board.
