Sycho Fred feeling lucky about his third try at Market Rasen in the Allinson Print Handicap Chase
Market Rasen will become home for the Class 4 Allinson Print Handicap Chase over three miles and a furlong on Saturday, 28th April. Taking part in the race that will award the winner with the £4,106 purse is a line-up of six five-year and older thoroughbreds.
The entry who has recently won there is Sycho Fred, Buster King’s eleven-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Rebecca Steel. He has raced four times during the new season and the only victory that he was able to claim presented itself at Market Rasen during the third outing of the season.
His seasonal debut was in the St Leger Tickets On Sale 6th February Handicap Chase on 11th January at Doncaster over three miles. The race was won by Quetzal as Amroth Bay finished the closest to the winner.
Settling third behind the winner was Get Ready To Go who was soon followed by Sycho Fred. The 85/40 favourite of the race, Quel Ballistic, was declared unraced after unsettling the jockey.
Sycho Fred seized the first victory of the season in the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Handicap Chase at Market Rasen on 11th March over two miles and six and a half furlong.
With Brian Hughes onboard, Sycho Fred led the runner up, La Pantera Rosa, by 3 ¼ lengths. Finishing the closest after the runner up was Sacre Toi. The 13/8 favourite of the race, Babysitter, was the last entry to leave the racing track.
His very next race was at Market Rasen too but this time he could not deliver the same level of performance as in the previous race.
On 15th April he was pulled up from the Rewards4racing.Com Handicap Chase over two miles and four furlongs, which was won by Ballyallia Man.
I’ve Been Framed was the 7/4 favourite runner up of the race.
Today he will race the fifth venture of the new season and will be in for the third straight race at Market Rasen. Winning there once has brought into light his potential for leaving an impact on today’s race. The second try at the same race course did not really give the eleven-year-old a chance to race and prove himself.
