Sydnee Michaels all set to defend title at Credit Union Challenge

The Credit Union Challenge is going to start from August 3-5, at the Capital Hills, Albany, with Sydnee Michaels of the United States seeking to defend her title.
Although the field at the Credit Union Challenge is as strong this year as it was last year, Michaels is too eager to clinch another victory at the tournament, as she said that she is happy to be back to Albany
again.
The American star, who has now become permanent LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) contender, would not confirm her participation for the tournament, if she was on a tight schedule. Since there is
no LPGA event going on this week, Michaels is at Capital Hills to defend her title.
The Credit Union Challenge is one of the prestigious events on the Symetra Tour, and has had several names since its launch. In 2012, the Tour officials changed the name of the tournament form Price Chopper
Tour Championship to The Credit Union Challenge.
The current edition will be featuring plenty of talented players seeking to move to the LPGA Tour by recording a win — but Michaels can make it a little difficult for the other contenders to play with ease.
The defending champion displayed a stunning performance last year, as she outrivaled fellow American Jessi Gebhardt by one stroke.
Speaking to the media about how she is going to fare against rivals at Capital Hills this week, Michaels said that she is pretty happy to be back here, and her number one goal is to defend her title. She said
that she has been out of touch for the last few weeks, as she missed out on Evian Masters 2012, played in France last week.
“I wasn't able to play in France," said Michaels, referring to last week's Evian Masters, "so I haven't played a tournament for four weeks or so. The LPGA schedule starts back up again next week, so I thought
it was a good opportunity to get some tournament play. It's a place with good memories for me. There's definitely no doubt I wanted to play."
Recounting her memorable win at Capital Hills last year, the American prodigy said that her main concern was to get the LPGA card, and she did well to achieve that goal.
