gee.....you give us AFL supporters c**p because 'its a soft sport' and that NSW and QLD AFL supporters dont know whats better...well I think that crowds vote with their feet!

normal Sydney NRL matches only ever pull around...10 to 15 thousand tops.

But it stumps me for a 'rugby league city' that the Sydney Swans can pull a crowd of 60 000 fans into a Rugby League stadium!!!!!

from afl.com.au, the official crowd was 59,202 on Saturday night...thats what the NRL achieves in 3, 4 sometimes 5 games!!

gee Rugby League fans...your 'mans sport' may just be going out the window for a more intellegent, free flowing code of football!

  1. There's more to do in Sydney, the reason we aren't forced to watch a boring sport when we want to go out, there's so many options. And our city doesn't close down at 10 p.m. like Melbourne.

  2. Here's what I think u should do:

    1.Be nice.

    2.Mind your own business.

    3.GET LOST!

(Same goes to the NRL fans that are spamming on AFL actually)

PS:And you got the number wrong...normally they have more than that.

  3. ? Thats sydney, not queensland, there's a big difference. Ill admit that sydney is full of bandwagon supporters that usually only attend games when their team is winning(im a queenslander we dot things differently) but, Rugby league is just an easier game to watch at home which is proven by state of origin ratings and grand final ratings far superior to afl's grand final and what ever mickey mouse events you lot host so get over yourself, we have state of origin that sells out in brisbane and gets just about 80,000 in sydney, what highlight matches do you have? nothing. And dont forget our international game, unlike yours and your little world cup with ireland lol. Swans are the only team in the state, so out of a population of just about 5 million in sydney to average what? 30,000? at the scg is pretty p**s poor.

btw average rugby league crowds in australia are 17,500 and were bordering 20,000 before the state of origin season and will eventually lift back to that mark by the end of the year. you may think thats bad compared to the afl but the nrl has the highest attendances of a rugby competition for both union and league in the world, and thats something to boast about unlike your lonely, lonely sad game that isnt even known outside of australia and in minority zones of ireland.

  4. You have to love those free tickets that the AFL give away.

    Didn't see it, didn't care.

I was busy watching Australia play France.

Internationals have so much more appeal.

I can pay out on AFL easily, especially the teams.  They have no local appeal to me.  But, would you berate your own country's team?

Australia won last night.  I wouldn't have a clue who won AFL.

  5. the only fing goin 4 AFL is crowd numbers. Thats it! If u dont like the toughest game in da world there is somthin seriously wrong wif u! Did ur daddy used 2 dress u up as a little girl and make u sit on all of ur uncles laps? That would explain alot

y wud u wana pay $80 to sit outside in da frzzing cold in the middle of winter, when ya can just be some where warm watchin it on TV sinkin pi$$ with the money ya saved from buying tickets, food and transport + fu.kin around all night

  6. Additional Details was a bunch of c**p. Running into each other? Last time I saw  Israel Falou was jumping really high (higher then any of those ruckmen in the AFL) to grab the ball to score a try of the kick, that was kicked by a man who was half way down to the ground, and i'll tell you why the AFL SOMETIMES pulls more of a croud, its because we have a decent size field and can hold a certain number of people. AFL grounds are ridiculus massive, so more people can see more of the game. (which in the end doesn't work anyone because the ball is only played in a small areas of the ground) and thats another thing, in NRL you get what you pay for, AFL you can't see a thing if your down at the front, and they might only kick the ball near where you are onec or twice. And when you say "going out the window" there are more places then QLD and NSW, victoria has a great population of Rugby League fans.

And again with the add info, what was that, running into another guy and breaking your arm? no, thats what would happen if one of you afl people made a tackle. See, in the NRL you get people with muscles. So you use these muscles to tackle people. again, when you tackle, the other guy doesn't have a cry about it, he gets up, and plays the ball. In the AFL, someone bumps someone then they need a   stretcher to get them off they field.

You also said it was boring and stale? All AFL people do is tutus and kick a ball through a goal. Where is the tackling? Where is the manlyness of it all. Its all in the head which has been up the bums of all the AFL people ever since the game was made. All you do in the AFL is kick, mark, score, kick mark, score.

And thats another thing, you score way too much, unless all AFL people take a pill which means they can get excited about every single goal. Its boring, seeing the ball just go though the same old posts over and over and over. Atleast in the NRL you don't know if there going to go all the way to score the try, dive to score it, break there leg to score it. Its what you would call........... UNPREDICTABLE

  7. All your argument proves is that 10-15 thousand people are smarter then 60,000 morons that would pay hard earned money to watch full grown men in tight hot pants kick and ball. And you say AFL is more intelligent. I think the we've seen a video that would suggest otherwise

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHG2Mjibe...

  8. Take a chill pill & return to your own section, I won't tell you were here.

  9. sydney sports fans in general dont turn up to games, they just suck at it.

Its not just the league, victorians turn up to more than NSW people in general.

  10. once again.. your only defense to such a g*y poofy game is crowd numbers.. jeez what has that got to prove about being a more manly sport.. your a absolute spastic get out of this section  already.. go talk about what scarves your going to wear on afl game night or how hard your sport is for pulling each other down by each others singlets & jumping on each others backs lol serious why even start..

  11. 9 league teams. Worse socioeconomic conditions [no need to be nice here, most league fans are of the poorer side of Sydney]. Seriously, $150 to take a family to a league game.

Compared to the one team, the odd game at ANZ which actually attracts crowds in the west [families save up over a period of 1-2months to go to a game that is within reach of their homes, so that they can go back a send their kids to sleep at a reasonable hour]

I work at the stadium, and deadset of the 60000 people there, 30000 were kids.

Great for AFL I must admit, but I don't think its a reason to be 'ashamed' as an NRL fan. I mean, we actually have a competition which is so d**n unpredictable it's worth watching. Not like the AFL, where the season is decided by Round 5.

  12. thats cos they are all pussys

    only realy people watch nrl
