Hi, my friend bought me phantom of the opera tickets for the Lyric theatre in Sydney. She paid for them by her credit card so the tickets are in her name. Will that be a problem? Do they check the ID of ticketholder and the person carrying the ticket?

  1. Can't see why it would be a problem, as people often buy theatre tickets as gifts.

Why don't you ring the theatre and find out from them.

  2. It does not matter the name on the tickets. As long as you have a valid ticket on hand, you are allow to enter the theatre.

If your friend bought the tickets on-line using her credit card and wish to collect the tickets at a ticket outlet (ticketek or at the theatre), then she must personnally collect the tickets.

Incidentally, I just seen the show last week. It was excellent.

  3. nah they dont really care

but OMG phantom of the opera's the best musical i've ever seen

    it was absolutely amazing

you should check out wicked, my english friend saw it on broadway and she said it was incredible, lol and all my musical friends are going crazy about it :)

  4. Don't think so unless they are suspecting something or if they feel like they need to. This varies as each place does their job differently.

...and what's wrong if your friend got you the tickets? It's her money.
