Sydney Sixers ignore http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Philip-Narine-c91869 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472 bowler, Pat Cummins, won’t be joining inaugural Big Bash League champions Sydney Sixers, with the player set to sign for Perth Scorchers, the runners-up last year.
The 19-year-old missed out all of the campaign last season after suffering an injury during his debut appearance for the national team in October. He spent the best part of six months out of cricket and upon recovering, was drafted for the recently concluded series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
However, Cummins’ tour was again cut short after he sustained a side strain during the first game at Lord’s. With potentially another lengthy period on the sidelines, it has now been confirmed by the Sixers’ general manager, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Clark-c2591, that the fast bowler will not be a part of the franchise’s plan for the upcoming season - offering words of caution in handling the youngster's injury.
"We all have to be on one wavelength with Pat Cummins, because he's a fine prospect," http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clark-c51118 said on Fox Sports. "No one is ever questioning that. But the last thing he needs is you telling him to do more weights and [someone else] telling him to do more running. The poor kid is just confused. He needs one solid training programme, probably set by Cricket Australia, and then run with it."
Clark however, gave insight on another player the team is looking after, the Windies’ mystery spinner, Sunil Narine. Narine has had a meteoric rise in recent times, which includes a highly successful stint in the Indian Premier League season five, with reigning Champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
His slow bowling had perplexed many top players, and he further went on to be named as the Player of the Tournament after picking up 24 wickets at 11.95, going at well under six runs per over. His presence will certainly add flair to the tournament but it remains to be seen what International schedule the Caribbean giants have in December-January.
"We're looking at Sunil Narine," Clark said. "There's just some conflicting schedule issues with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board. Hopefully we'll be able to get him across for at least part of the season.”
