Sydney Thunder secure Gayle and Afridi - Cricket News Update
Big Bash League franchise, Sydney Thunder, have announced the prized signings of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Ali-Khan-c89356 Afridi, the most sought after players in T20 Cricket today.
Chris Gayle played for the Thunders in the inaugural edition of the Big Bash League, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 all-rounder and former captain, Afridi, was poached from Melbourne Renegades.
Both all-rounders are two of the biggest entertainers in the Twenty20 format, and will add enormous strength to the Thunder line up.
The Jamaica born Gayle, who has so far played 110 Twenty20 matches in his carrier, made his T20 debut in 2005. He has amased 4110 runs at an average of 44.19 with an amazing strike rate of 155.38. His aggregate includes 8 hundreds and 28 fifties.
Gayle was a big hit for Thunders in the maiden edition. He top scored for the team with 252 runs at an average of 42. He also scored a hundred and 2 fifties in his 7 innings, alongside a winning innings ton against Adelaide Strikers.

On the other hand, the Pakistan all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, is not only a match winner but a true leader as well. He was the star performer for Melbourne Renegades last year. Apart from scoring 69 runs off 4 innings, he also picked up a record haul of 10
wickets in 7 matches - the most by a Melbourne Renegades bowler in BBL/01.
“I was approached by few teams in BBL and opted for Sydney Thunder as I feel there is a real drive and passion to be successful this time around, and this is something I want to be part of,” said Afridi.
