Sydney Wilson, Mei Xiwen, Jamie O’Neill shine at 2011 World Snooker Q School Event 1 – Day two
Sydney Wilson, Mei Xiwen and Jamie O’Neill shone at the best-of-seven frames session two on day two of the 2011 World Snooker Q School event one at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
The overall results for the afternoon session are as follows:
Ryan Causton 3-4 Sydney Wilson
First match in the afternoon session saw two Englishmen head to head in a cut-throat competition. Both players went neck to neck throughout the match but in the end, it was Wilson who came on top with a top break of 66 to cruise into the second round.  
Li Yan 2-4 Mei Xiwen
The second match of the afternoon session again saw two countrymen Li Yan and Mei Xiwen fighting head to head. However, in the end it was Xiwen who produced a high quality game to register a comfortable 4-2 win over his opponent. He also showcased superb
breaks of 74, 67, 39 and 42 in the process.
Rune Kampe 0-4 Jamie O’Neill
This match was over within a blink of an eye as the Englishman Jamie O’Neill completely whitewashed the Denmark professional, Rune Kampe. It was an accomplishing performance from O’Neill, as he knocked in classy breaks of 50, 34, 113 and 51 in the four frames
respectively.
Duane Jones 3-4 Alex Davies
The fourth match of the session saw another fully stretched battle between the Welshman, Duane Jones and the Englishman, Alex Davis. However, in the end it was Davies who held his nerves and edged his opponent in the final deciding frame
with a top break of 58.
Alex O’Donoghue 0-4 Tian Pengfei
The best performance of the afternoon session came in the last match from the Chinese Tian Pengfei who registered the second whitewash of the session over the Englishman, Alex O’Donoghue. He also mopped up carving breaks of 66, 118 and 60 in the first, second
and fourth frame respectively. He now also holds the highest break in the tournament so far.
