Which is more expensive buying a townhouse in Sydney or buying an individual house on a block of land (the usual house)? Also, would a townhouse be more expensive to maintain because of the annual/quarterly fees towards the upkeep of the facilities?

Definityl a house with land alot more expensive in Sydney. Rates (annual bill for living on land) are pretty high in sydney along with one of australia most expensive city to buy houses in.  A town house would be alot less expensive to buy outright but do be careful of high body corporate fees although town houses ussually don't attract too high fees as they don't have many facilities. Ussually it's the units that have high body corps. You still have to pay rates too but they are a little less.

A townhouse would be cheaper and the cost of upkeep is cheaper also. Body corporate fee's are expensive but you save on paying rates.
