I want to buy a shop and sell books in Sydney.What should I do?

  1. Books are not a good choice when you're planning to start your own business.

    If you still plan to, I suggest looking up places in the City or the high class districts such as the North Shore as the levels of education and income there are high.

    Rent is very expensive nowadays so it may take a bit of planning. Good luck.

  3. Check daily and local newspapers under businesses for sale.  Ask real estate agents about vacant premises and purchase books from wholesale booksellers.

    Do a google search for...wholesale booksellers.

  4. Try www.seekcommercial.com.au or google 'business brokers' - they have lists of businesses for sale similar to buying real estate. Discuss it at length with your accountant, you also need a solicitor, and to discuss it with your lender/bank. Once you have a business in mind you will need to prepare a cashflow forecast and a budget - the bank will require it.
