Heya, I'm looking for restaurants in Sydney (preferably nearer to central) where the chef cooks right in front of you in one of those open kitchen/restaurant things.

Any other different kind of restaurants, that aren't your standard eating place would be great too. ^_^ We're going on a holiday. ^_^

  1. There is a steak place on Bonzi Beach called Ribs Rumbs or something like that. ITS GREAT!!!

  2. The Genghis Khan BBQ Restaurant in  King Street  (down near Wynyard Station) is  a lot of fun. You go up to a buffet-style food bar and get your choice of raw meat and veggies, drizzle whatever sauces you want over the top and take it up to the chef who will cook it for you while you wait.

For something different catch the ferry over to Manly and try the North African  food at Out of Africa.

  3. There are a few great tepanyaki restaurants in sydney one is very expensive in the rocks up near the harbour bridge (cumberland street?)

  4. There used to be one in Parramatta or North Parramatta.

Surfers Paradise has one where the chef throws the food at you and always gets it in the bowl.

One at Parramatta had hotplate in the centre of the table and you choose your own cuts and cook it yourself.

  5. SEARCH THE NET...

  6. Longrain is close enough to central.  It's also some of the best food you will ever eat.  Modern Thai, open kitchen & a great bar.  Be sure to book though & dishes are big enough to share.  85 Commenwealth St Surry Hills 9280 2888.

  7. If you are looking for a hilarious night out, where the chiefs cook in front of you and toss the food around then you have to go to a Japanese restaurant called Shinju Teppanyaki in Chinatown.

  8. Go to a Teppenyaki restaurant or even a Korean BBQ where they cook it on a hot plate (some over coals) at your table. There is a Korean BBQ in Goulburn Street (not to far from Central).
