  1. The Swans still made the finals this year.  A reminder folks, there are 16 teams in the competition, so you'd expect your team to win every 16 years on average, right?  Sydney are just about on par.

So don't sweat, just pre-pay your membership for 2022.

That said, the negative vs positive thing has been a revolving door for 100 years.  Swans aren't the first to do it (1960's St Kilda and Carlton for example).  It just takes a while for other teams to engineer a way past the blockade (aided by the blockers getting older).

Swans will need a different style to the "block and wait for a mistake" approach.  Other teams are breaking them up by trying their patience and then running hard through them.  They have some good younger players who might be three years off their peak.

In the meantime .....caaaaaaarrrrn da Cats!

  2. all down hill nothing but south

  3. Time to rebuild they also have some older players they may want to look at trading. the Swans are a great team played in 2 finals back to back. Not may teams can boast that.

  4. Onwards and upwards- will have to be some changes to the way we approach the game- more attack more running, but we'll be back in contention next year!

Ps- what's this about Kenneally not playing next year?

  5. The Swans expect to win. I am a swans fan and am disppointed with their efforts this year. But on the positive side we did have alot of injuries compared to the last two years. The sad thing is, that next year we dont get Keneally back who we barely saw this season. I think this is the reason why this year was so unpredictable and up n down. We needed him running. I think if we can get back to the form weve been in for 2005-2006 we will be one of the most indestructable sides of the league

  6. I think the days of relying on a defence that only gives out 60 points might be over.  We don't have many tall forwards but lots of quicker players who can score like O'Keefe, Shneider. So I would hopefully say that we will be a different team in 08 with lots of run up the middle through Kennelly, Leo Barry and Bolton with our quicker players taking advantage of that run. Stopping the play just doesn't work as well particularly against any type of flooding.

Oh yeah, and I don't think we will be so Hall conscious. How Roos uses him next year will be pivotal to how we go.

  7. they might make the finals next year if they are still a good side

  8. They have to work on their game plan and, like wc, have to find a way to score instead of controlling the game and losing. They need a new ruckman everitt is to old, and they need a new forward, I just dont like it wen barry hall always looks at the umpire for a free.

  9. its all down hill from here
