Thailand’s emerging player Chochuwong Pornpawee found a wonderful start as she did not face any trouble in beating her local challenger Riya Pillai in Women’s Singles qualifying round at Syed Modi International India GPG 2012 on Tuesday, December 18, in
India.
Thai lady, who has made her presence felt by playing competitive badminton in recent events, displayed her lofty craft in the arena and managed to outplay her local challenger in a dominating fashion in just 24 minutes.
Chochuwong was in commanding position on court as she dictated the pace of rallies throughout the battle and ended it up in straight games with a lopsided score on the board.
On the contrary, Riya was helpless against the power play of her Thai opponent as she failed to play positive badminton and eventually crashed out without making her presence felt in the arena.
The impressive speed and attacking play of Chochuwong favoured her to take charge of the pace of rallies from the initial points of first game.
Chochuwong showed that she has got top class skills on court and eventually successful in taking a strong domination in the arena.
The in-form Thai lady proceeded with a terrific speed in the starting half and remained in lead on score board until the interval.
Riya tried to put up strong resistance but remained unable to take charge of rallies and remained trailing in the concluding half.
Chochuwong remained consistent in employing powerful smashes in targeted areas and managed to bag the first set with a stunning score of 21-13.
In the second set, Chochuwong played with stunning speed without leaving any room for Riya to get a good rhythm.
The perfectly executed smashes and net killings kept Chochuwong ahead of her challenger all the way until the one-minute break in second game.
Chochuwong was calm and positive on court in the concluding points of second set and grabbed the second set with a stunning margin of 21-14.
The impressive Chochuwong remained successful in winning this Women’s Singles qualifying round battle in just 24 minutes with a completely dominating 21-13 and 21-14 score on the board.
