Syed Modi International India GPG: Rituparna Das crushes Arathi Sara Sunil in qualifying round clash
Rituparna Das, a talented shuttler from India, put up superb show of top class badminton in Women’s Singles qualifying round and outplayed her team-mate Arathi Sara Sunil at Syed Modi International India GPG 2012 on Tuesday, December 18, in India.
Indian shuttler proved that she has got elevated skills as she delivered a phenomenal performance and overpowered her compatriot in a dominating manner while taking just 25 minutes.
Rituparna was in smashing form as she played with incredible speed and control in her shots and remained successful in winning this battle in straight sets with a decent total on the board.
On the other hand, Arathi could now show her brilliance against the attacking play of her in-form opponent. She also failed to match the pace of rallies and eventually crashed out in straight games.
In the starting set, the aggressive Rituparna played with excellent control in her shots and managed to occupy the pace of rallies quite easily.
Rituparna showed that she has achieved top quality skills in the arena and ultimately successful in taking a strong position on court.
Until the mid-game interval, the impressive Rituparna maintained her supremacy on court by playing aggressive badminton and grabbed a wonderful lead on the board.
After the one-minute break, Arathi tried to put up strong resistance but remained unable to take control of the game and remained struggling all the way.
Meanwhile, the positive and planned play of Rituparna assisted her to grab the first set with a completely dominating 21-14 margin on the score board.
In the second game, the in-form Rituparna continued playing in the similar fashion as she did not let the pace of rallies down and managed a wonderful lead until the one-minute break.
In the concluding half of second game, the lofty Rituparna maintained the different on score board without showing any respect to her challenger and remained successful in winning the set with a decent margin of 21-17.
The impressive Rituparna remained successful in reaching Women’s Singles main draw after defeating Arathi in straight sets with a dominating 21-14 and 21-17 total on the board.
