Sylvain Distin claims Arsenal target Phil Jagielka happy at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 – Premier League News
Everton defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jagielka-c29902 is more than happy at Goodison Park and is not looking to move away.
The Gunners have been in the hunt for a defender for quite some time now and based on recent speculation, Jagielka became the team’s top priority. Despite Everton currently being in desperate need of some sort of funding, the team seems to be reluctant on
letting go of Jagielka.
Distin at the same time seems to be more than confident over the fact that his defensive partner will not be moving to North London, before the start of the season.
When talking about Jagielka and his stance on the potential move, Distin is quoted to have said: “He’s not come out and said he wants to go anywhere, so I guess that means Jags wants to stay”
Distin then went on to talk about Everton and how it was the club to be at, as he went on to add: “It’s still a club to be at. I don’t think any players want to leave here, to be honest. My guess is he’s fine here.
The defender then claimed that if the player asked him whether he should move or not, he would ask him to chose not to do so and the main reason behind that is because everyone is happy at Everton.
"If he comes to me and asks, I’ll tell him what I think, but it’s not happened so we’re happy he’s staying.”
The defender then ended by complementing his team mate and mentioning how he was still looking to improve over the coming years.
“He’s an amazing player - you don’t play for your country if not. He’s still young and still improving.”
Jagielka has proven over the course of the last few seasons, that he is one of the better defenders in the Premier League. The centre back has hardly ever gone on to make a serious error at the back and has almost always come to his team’s rescue.
Jagielka’s targeting by Arsenal at first seemed to be a little odd, since the team was more inclined to landing other defenders at first.
Nonetheless, it seems like the Gunners scouts felt that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and help the team move forward.
At the moment, there has been no progress regarding a move by Jagielka to Arsenal, however, the way things are shaping up, there is bound to be some update in the near future.
