Sylvania TV 19 inch

Question

I have a sylvania tv which i purchased a while back. the remote that can with it is remote # NO108UD. this remote was lost and i have purchased 5 universal remotes which do not work at all with the set. then i sent for a remote that claims that it works with all sylvania tvs from 1988 and above, again, it did not work. i now sent for online the remote model number listed above. if this does not work, what is wrong.?
