Okay so hubby put a disk in the player that the dvd can't read now its stuck. I've read the manual, called customer support and the only thing I can do is take it to a service center. Anyone have any suggestions or had this happen to them. I've unplugged it completely for 10 minutes, and nothing happened. HELP, its less than 1 week old.

  1. Carefully look around the disk insert point (ha ha, laugh it up) and check for a small hole (oh boy). It's very small. Most home computers have these holes for just such an emergency. Bend a paper clip and stick it in there until it stops, and then press gently. There is a tiny button or switch that is a kind of emergency eject. This should work regardless if the TV is on or off, plugged in or not. Of course, it'll only work if you have the aforementioned little hole.

If it's new, bring it in. It'll be under warranty. And don't back down when they try to say it's not, because they will claim this, that, and the other to avoid having to pay for a repair themselves. Read your warranty, and make a fuss.

If it's out of warranty, you could maybe try to take it apart yourself, depending on how daring you feel. Whatever you do, I would not suggest grabbing the DVD if you get a side exposed and wrenching it out, as you may destroy the DVD and the player.

If all else fails, bite the bullet and bring it in. They should give you a free estimate. If it's going to cost you more than $40 bucks, say no thanks. You can buy a new, cheap DVD player AND replace the lost DVD for $40. Good luck!
