Chicago Sky vs. San Antonio Silver Stars
Sylvia Fowles
Sylvia Fowles played one of the best games of her career at AT&T Center. The 25-year-old recorded a double-double in Chicago Sky’s 85-73 victory over San Antonio Silver Stars. Fowles scored a high 28 points, including 22 of them in the first half, and grabbed 17 rebounds. The three-time WNBA All-Star shot 12 for 16 from the field and 4 for 6 from free throw line.
Sky coach Pokey Chatman praised the brilliant performance of her player, who is averaging 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game so far in this season.
“She did it early, she did it in the middle, she did it late,” “When she couldn't do it, she snatched some boards.”
Tamera Young
Tamera Young also played important role in Chicago’s victory that snapped their two-game losing streak. Young added 15 points and five rebounds in more than 29 minutes. The player went 5 for 10 from the floor and pinned 5 of 5 free throws.
Jia Perkins
Jia Perkins came off the bench with 18 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in the Silver Stars’ loss. The 29-year-old guard hit 7 for 13 from the flied, including 2 for 4 from downtown, and 2 for 2 from free throw line.
Sophia Young
Sophia Young chipped in with 16 points for San Antonio. The power forward also grabbed six rebounds and stole the ball for four times in more than 34 minutes of action. Young shot 6 for 13 from the floor and 4 for 8 from free throw line.
Becky Hammon
Becky Hammon was the third major contributor in the defeat. Hammon had 14 points on a 4 for 11 shooting from the floor. She also had four assists, two rebounds, two steals and a block. The player hit 2 of 4 three-pointers and pinned 4 of 4 free throws.
Minnesota Lynx vs. Tulsa Shock
Seimone Augustus
At Target Center, Seimone Augustus topped all the players with 16 points in Minnesota Lynx’s 82-54 victory over the slumping Tulsa Shock. Augustus scored 10 of her points in the second half of the game. The player was 8 for 12 from the field.
Lindsay Whalen
Lindsay Whalen tallied 12 points, dished out nine assists and had three steals in Minnesota’s second straight victory. Whalen hit 5 for 10 from the floor.
Sheryl Swoopes
Sheryl Swoopes led Tulsa with nine points, four rebounds and three assists in their WNBA record-tying 17th consecutive defeat. None of Tulsa players reached double figures.
