Symbol for Trying New Things?

For english, i have to have an object that represents someone who taught me to try new things. Any ideas? thanks

if you say to your mind "if i'll see a ball tonight in my room ill try to do new things" then if it will happen then maybe it's a symbol.. it depends on you.. it's like this what i usualy do, if a star and a moon is near from each other then ill court a girl.. actualy, from doing that i was never busted by any some1..
