  1. High withers for a TB or high for an average horse? You just described an average one-noted for high withers and comparatively narrow shoulders vs quarter horses and warmbloods.

All English saddles are made with the TB in mind, though if your Animal is abnormal you can just add a gel pad or 1/4 pad and keep him comfortable. If that does not clear his withers doubts about his usability come to mind.

Synthetic saddles have one huge drawback people always forget when they see the low price tag: they  never ever break in. In saddles as in everything, you do get what you pay for. Try the Dover's free trial before buying: you might be surprised.

  2. There are lots of saddles on ebay, but if were you I would go to a saddlery and have someone come out and measure the horse for the best fit and have one made.  It cost more but it's worth it for you and the horse.

  3. Synthetic saddles are cheap, light and flexible. And I think it would suit your purpose! the only thing is that they are not as durable as leather! but they are a lot cheaper!

you can get them esp for high withered horses.

They are cut back, or you can use extra padding to raise the saddle up!

Geldings suffer the most due to not being entire and it is due to muscle wasting.

try to build up his muscles by doing stretching exercises and engaging his back!

But he will always have this problem so just try and cope with it the best you can!
