Syoto Hara, Syogo Hihara and Yayoi Matsumoto clinch titles at the 2011 Japan Open
At the end on day two of the 2011 Japan Open, Syoto Hara, Syogo Hihara and Yayoi Matsumoto put up a wonderful show in the Men’s 50m butterfly, Men’s 400m freestyle and Women’s 100m freestyle events in Osaka, Japan.
Syoto Hara clinched the Men’s 50m butterfly title with an intriguing time of 23.95 seconds and moved into the 21st place of the world rankings. On the other hand, Ryo Takayasu wound up second with a distinctive time of 23.97 seconds and Kouhei
Kawamoto earned third place honours with a time of 24.00 seconds.
Secondly, Syogo Hihara took home the Men’s 400m freestyle crown with the fastest time of 3:50.93 minutes and jumped into the 23rd place in the world rankings. Yasunari Hirai earned second spot with a time of 3:51.71 minutes, whereas, Junpei Higashi
settled third in a time of 3:52.17 minutes.
In the B final, Syo Sotodate put up a show with the fastest time of 3:50.01 minutes. Fumiya Hidaka rounded out the top two in 3:50.96 minutes. Sotodate and Hidaka have now jumped into the 16th and 24th positions in the world rankings.
In the meantime, Yayoi Matsumoto won the Women’s 100m freestyle event with a matchless time of 54.81 seconds and improved to 24th place in the international rankings. On the other side, Haruka Ueda snared silver with a time of 55.52 seconds and
Miki Uchida finished third with a time of 55.94 seconds in the respective meet.
In the Women’s 50m breast-stroke final, Kanako Watanabe snagged the golden crown with a time of 31.83 seconds. Mina Matsushima captured silver with a time of 32.02 seconds, whereas, Kana Sugisaki finished third in a time of 32.21 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 100m freestyle title was taken over by Kenji Kobase with a stunning time of 49.31 seconds. Takuro Fuji took silver with a time of 49.36 seconds, while Ranmaru Harada wound up third with a time of 49.84 seconds. Shinri Shioura earned
fourth spot in a time of 49.85 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the Women’s 400m freestyle title was clinched by Maiko Fujino with a sterling time of 4:13.02 minutes. Meanwhile, Aya Takano nabbed silver with a genuine time of 4:13.51 minutes and Risa Sekine settled for bronze in a time of 4:14.32
minutes.
