Syrian Hamster vs. dwarf hamsters..?!?!?

Question

Okay I want a hamster that will sit in my hand

so i guess I want a calmer hamster

but i dont want one that i cant play with

what should i get and what do each cost?

I would choose a syrian

They are a lot more calm.

Dwarf hamsters are cuter, but are not as friendly. They also move VERY fast. Syrians are much calmer and friendlier.

i would get a syrian hamster cause they are easy to handle, best if only buying one hamster cause no way would u want to put 2 syrian hamsters together! i dont live in the us so i don't no how much they will cost sorry! good lck with watever hamster u get:)!

I think a teddy bear hamster is the best for u and many others. they are calmer, and bite less often. these are ideal first hamsters for any age. In the petco near me, teddys are 10.00.

Dwarfs look really cute and all but...

-they escape easier (would you rather look for one? I didnt think so..)

-Most of them when they bite, they cant go through your skin, so they just hang on...(the pain is longer... plus they bite more than teddys)

- they are harder to tame

Definately get a teddy bear hamster they are also very cute and very friendsly. However dwarf's also cute are pretty mean. I have owned 5 hamsters before [3 dwarfs, 1 teddy bear, and 1 panda lol (a black and white teddy bear hamster] and the panda and teddy were very friendly and nice the dwarfs always tried to bite me though :]

dwarf aren't really 'petting hamsters' they are too small

i would get syrian they are soo cute and funny

and yes have there hyper moments but i find that they are lovelly to handle :)

I got a dwarf Russian hamster and she is very calm and loves to be held and dwarf hamster live longer than tebby bear or regular hamsters and a cool thing about Russian hamster is in the winter they becomes white and mine only cost 13 dollars and she is very calm
