Hey, I'm planning on buying a desktop and to install all of The Sims 2 with it's expansions.

So can anyone advise me or tell me if this would be good to run The Sims 2 with ALL expansions available. (Including the STUFF packs, and Apartment Life.)

Here are the following specs of the desktop:

PS: I want it to work PERFECTLY well, on highest detail with no bugs or blocks. (Though I wouldn't mind SOME bugs after having played 8 hours after each other.)

- AMD Phenom X3 Triple Core Processor.

- 3072mb-ram (3Gb-ram)

- ATI Radeon HD3450 Graphic Card with 250 Megabytes of Memory.

I think this should handle it perfectly well but I'm just wondering, please reply.

Gigabytes (Extra Tag).

  1. If you want it to work perfectly, then you shouldn't even consider Vista.

I just got Vista and plan to dump it and go back to XP because Vista just won't work with any accessories.    It'll run them very well for a matter of hours or a couple of weeks, and then won't run them at all.

I have a dual core 3Ghz, 750 Gigs, 3 gigs Ram, which should be more than adequate, but Vista is the worst OS I've ever seen.

  2. look it up it should be on the back of the box

  3. Eric,Vista maybe flashy and trashy sometimes but i like it.when a program didn't work on Vista, its not 100% the windows fault.

i have 6 expansion packs and 6 stuff packs in my Vista Home premium 32bit.i play it on medium setting and my sims character will flickered in funny way if i play it for too long in my laptop.no custom downloads for me though,as i don't want to risk anything.but everyone machine is different.

yours is quite powerful. it exceed the game requirements and should have no problem to play in high setting.just one thing, our ATI Radeon HD series has problem in displaying the tv/computer screen in the game.your sims tv screen will be just black when it turns on.

on BBS Forum, there's no action has been taken by EA so far to fix this.but i guess it is small matter, compare to Nvidia geforce blue screen of death.

so,you should be fine for the sims 2. update your windows and drives before install. and install all the expansion packs in correct order to avoid Vista getting confuse.

just be careful about the hacks and mods.your computer is new.
