It says that the gradually exposing yourself to a specific phobia, you'll eventually learn how to cope with it and overcome it. But I'm not getting even close! I've never got over my social anxiety.

Am I doing something wrong?

  1. Are you doing it with a therapist or by yourself?

If you are doing it by yourself, you may not be pushing yourself as much as a therapist would.

Also, I think social anxiety is a different beast than a phobia. I'm not a doctor, but I know that usually social anxiety is treated with medications along with therapy, while a phobia just needs desensitization.

  2. This doesn't work for everyone you might have to find a different method for your phobia there are several options out there if you don't want to be medicated talk with you Family Dr
