If I were to spray systemic pesticide onto the leaves of a plant, is the pesticide absorbed by the leaves or does it diffuse through? Need some specific terms

  1. Assuming you use the correct concentration of herbicide so that it doesn't kill the plant too quickly, the systemic herbicide should enter into the leaves and then be translocated throughout the plant.  Some of it will diffuse from cell to cell, but a lot of it will pass through the vascular system.


  2. Systemic pesticides are absorbed through leaves when sprayed and through roots when applied in root zone.
