Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wojciech-Szczesny-c36998 has admitted that he is quite surprised by just how offensive all the teams in the Premier League were last season.
In order to get a better look at just how crazy things were in the league last season, we need to realize that Manchester City went on to beat Manchester United by six goals to one. At the same time, the Red Devils also managed to beat Arsenal in a league
game, with the final score reading eight goals to two in their favour.
It is rather amazing that the league produced such great moments, but with the leagues attack being so prolific, it raises a question of whether the defending in the Premier League has gone downhill.
Despite that fact, Szczesny feels that all the teams need to be given credit for the way they played and that next season might be even bigger and better than the one that just ended.
When talking about the Premier League and how fast paced it was in the 2011-2012 season, the Gunners goal keeper is reported to have said: "I think you just have to give credit to the attacking players in the Premier League – some of the players we have
in this country are as good as there have ever been and that’s why you see teams scoring and conceding a lot of goals"
"I like to believe that football is becoming more of an attacking game and it’s good for the league. It’s so tight that everyone goes into a fixture believing they can win it, no matter who they’re facing.”
He then went on to mention how even Wigan managed to beat Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, which just proved that anything could happen in the Premier League and hence it was easily one of the best, if not the best league out there today.
"Look at Wigan when they beat both us and Manchester United - they went for it, and got their rewards. It’s becoming more offensive, the mindset of players and teams is different and the quality is as good as we’ve ever had."
