Arsenal’s goal keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 could stick around for a little longer.
The Gunners took on Tottenham in the Premier League this past weekend and despite the team conceding a two goal lead early on.
The Emirates was brought back to life as Robin Van Persie scored the equalizer before the half time break, followed by three more goals from his teammates in the second half. As a result, Arsenal went on to beat their rivals by five goals to two in the end.
When asked about Van Persie and whether he would be sticking around at the Emirates for another season or not, Szczesny responded by stating: "We really don't discuss [speculation], it is not our business"
"We just want to have him at the club.”
"We are trying to make the most of it while he is here, he is a great captain and leader of the team and we are very pleased to have him.”
The keeper also admitted that it would be interesting if the result had a massive impact on Tottenham’s mentality, as a slight slip up could give Arsenal the window of opportunity that they have been looking to capitalize on.
Szczesny, when asked whether the loss would have any negative impact on Tottenham’s psychology, responded by claiming: "I hope as an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 fan"
He then went on to admit that his primary focus was to finish above Tottenham, given the fact that the team could not win the Premier League anymore.
“I said ages ago we can't realistically win the Premier League but now my main ambition is to finish above Spurs.”
"Every single goal felt better than the previous one and I was celebrating quite energetically. But I loved it. It is the firs time I have beaten Spurs and it is just great."
With Arsenal seemingly finally picking their form up, it is going to be interesting to see just how the team performs in the coming weeks and whether they can maintain their consistency or not.
