The Gunners legend went on to return to the North London club, on loan from the New York Red Bulls in the January transfer window.
In his first match for the club on his comeback, he went on to score a match winner against Leeds United.
At the same time, the striker went on to score another match winner in his last away game of the season, as he helped the Gunners edge past Sunderland.
Many believe that the late goal from the French goal scoring machine is what helped the team secure the third spot this season.
Szczesny, when talking about Henry and the impact that he had on the club is reported to have said: "If you’re talking about turning points you have to give credit to one man, and I mean Thierry. When he came here, wow, it was something different"
"It was priceless to have someone around who’s been here, done it and was the best player in the world at one point.”
He then talked about the impact that his goal against Leeds and just how it spurred the whole team on and got everyone happier than they had ever been.
"When he scored the winner against Leeds, the buzz around the stadium was the biggest I've ever felt – and I think it had a big impact on the players too. Going into the dressing room afterwards and seeing everyone so happy for Thierry was a really big moment.”
Despite many assuming that Henry might end up tarnishing his legacy with the club following his loan spell, it seems like the Frenchman has done just the opposite.
Not only did he give the fans something to cheer about in a season full of lows, he also helped give the team some much needed belief and hope, as they seemed stronger than ever following Henry’s return to the team.
Nonetheless, the team now needs to maintain this spirit and look to put an end to their trophy-less run, this coming season.
