T.J Dillashaw vs John Dodson – Preview TUF 14 Finale
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) will host TUF 14 on December 3, 2011. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be promoting the event where two new fighters will be making their UFC debut. American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter
Tylor Jeffery Dillashaw will face compatriot MMA fighter John Dodson inside the UFC ring when TUF 14 takes place in Las Vegas, USA.
For both the fighters, the UFC will be the start of a new era, as both would step inside the UFC ring for the first time. With high hopes for the fight, they would both focus on winning the bout and securing a win in their debut.
25-year old Dillashaw would be entering into the UFC circuit with four straight wins in his MMA career.
Dillashaw made his successful MMA debut in March 2010 when he won the bout against compatriot Czar Sklavos at King of the Cage 182. Throughout his MMA career so far, he has won all of his fights against American fighters. At TUF
14 he would again face Dodson, an American MMA fighter, and would look to beat him to extend his winning streak.
The 27-year old Dodson, on the other hand, has won twelve fights in his MMA career with five loses. He has also fought all American MMA fighters. His debut fight in November 2004 was against Japanese MMA fighter Yasuhiro Urushitani,
which he lost.
This was the first and only time in his career when Dodson fought against a Japanese fighter; otherwise, he has faced American fighters in his career. Dodson, nicknamed, The Magician, is on a two-match winning streak as he enters
TUF 14. He won his last two fights against Jessie Riggleman and John Moraga.
If Dodson has a two-match winning streak then Dillashaw has a five-match winning streak, which will make Dillashaw more hopeful in coming out winning the bout that Dillashaw. Dillashaw, nicknamed The Viper, will also have a height
advantage over Dodson. Dillashaw has a height of 5ft 6in while Dodson stands in at 5ft 3in. The extra 3inch height will give Dillashaw accessibility in using his moves, grappling techniques and taking down Dodson.
Dodson would have an upper hand in the bout for he has won more fights than Dillashaw, who won all five of his bouts and lost none. Dodson has a higher winning ratio but he has lost five bouts while Dillashaw is still undefeated.
The common factor between the two fighters would be the fact that they have fought American fighters throughout their MMA career. They will understand each other’s stance and techniques better as American fighters have a different style than Japanese fighters
or those belonging to other nationalities.
