Question:

T-mobile contract & termination fee's?

we just signed a contract with T- mobile in February.

We are moving in two months to northern California where there is no service!

We know this for two reasons; one we took our phones there inMarch, two there web site told us there is no service in that area "yet".

Currently there is only one cell phone provider who carries SOME service there.

My question is can we get out of our contract with out a terminations fee ?

  1. Highly unlikely initially.  You are still liable for the contract you signed.  On the other hand, you will probably get canceled in a few months for being on roaming over 80% of the time.  In this case, they do not charge a fee (but they make this determination themselves).  I was able to get out of my contract with them by basically hassling them mercilessly; every time they hung up on me, I called 611 again and asked again for a way out of my contract (which was extended after promises were made that they did not fulfill).  I did this repeatedly for about 2 weeks (nearly 100 hours of total time on the phone, lol) and they eventually offered me a way out.  I hope everything works out well for you.

  2. Sure if you don't mind the fee being charged, this going to collections, and your credit getting killed.  Otherwise, no - you'll have to pay the fees to get out of the contract, sorry.
