I have a miniature horse, and Im going to go and build a new fence for her this weekend. Pippin is only 30inches high at the shoulder. If I use 3foot high wire fence, how long of a t-post should I buy? 4foot?3foot? I plan on making a 20'x20'fenced area for her. How far apart should the t-post spacing be?

thank you in advance

  1. The post need to be at least 4 foot, set the posts about 5 feet apart, and use wood for the corners and use a dead man and corner bracing. Other wise the fence won't last a season.  Any horse will lean on the posts and the wire, just to rub.

  2. I would get the 4 foot, so you can have more to drive into the ground,  space them about 6 ft apart.

  3. 4'. The T-posts should have a stabilizer (arrow shape near the bottom) that needs to go into the ground. Depending on the stiffness of the wire, I would use a post every 6 feet.
