T.v on dvd player....?

Question

if anyone knows about t.v's and dvd players, plz answer my question...........would it hurt my dvd player if i put my new lcd on my dvd player? since the bottom of the t.v is flat, i dont think it would hurt......would it? if it would, then why?

I dont know if thats a good idea, I guess it depends on the durability of the DVD player. I tried the same thing except instead of a t.v. i had a center channel speaker sitting on top of my Sony DVD player. The speaker weighed about 40lbs. It didnt happen immedeatley but eventually the front panel display started to crack in different spots. Kinda spiderwebbing. I mean its totally possible that Sony just uses cheap material and it wouldve cracked if i set drink on top of it for too long. But if you have a more expensive player, you may want to consider a different way of setting it up
