  1. I 100% agree with you and IPL has taken cricket  to next level now the game is compared to foot ball.

Awaiting to hear that a cricketer is paid more than a Beckham,Tiger woods ............

  2. Well there are those among us who just don't like it but we don't try to change you mind do we ? So why try to change ours?  It bothers me because I see it as a threat to traditional cricket & India's way of another grab to control world cricket.

  3. In depressed world, t20 is a good fun,Distribute happinessby adopting any legitimate method.

  4. I agree.

Those who say it's a threat to traditional cricket... well actually, THINK about it and you'll understand it will not wipe out the test game or the ODI. They will remain as they are a test of skill and endurance.

IPL is great for entertainment and if it is a bad thing why do thousands go to watch it and go crazy behind the fences - they love it. And some say BCCI are trying to take the power... well, they already have it. The team with over a billion people and the country where cricket is their number 1 globally recognised sport and the team which is arguably the main contenders against world champions, Australia... it's no wonder it's board is so powerful.

IPL also recognises those younger players and those that have talent but haven't been recognised as yet on the global scene. We saw Raveendra Jadeja the other day play a great knock with Watson and then Shikhar Dhawan support Sehwag yesterday. Players like this can make a name for them selves and maybe get a chance someday to play cricket for their country in the 'traditional formats' of the game.

And besides, the cricketers deserve big cash rewards if basketball players, golfers and football players can. They also player a sport the requires skill and can also be dangerous. Cricket players have lost lives playing the game!!!

  5. Argree with you there mate lol. It seems to be a great success to those who arent incredibly patient. The crowds seens to really enjoy it and the players have quite a bit of fun with it sometimes especially the game against the Aussies when us Kiwis decided to go for the old bage lol... Brilliant form of Cricket I think.

  6. I think it is quite a good format. Our younger players will benefit playing with the worlds best players. such exposure is priceless!

And its only 3 foreign players per team.

I think that because India's retired top players say that IPL is "killing cricket" everyone starts giving him attention.

Most of the players in lower leagues in India don't get paid enough. So its good for them that they get some income.
