planning to buy a wide lens VCL-DE07TB for my T200(35-175mm equivalent)... what would be the changes if the magnification of the Wide-angle lens converter is (0.77X)???

is it worth it to buy this accessory, worth Php2.7k or approx. 45USD???

TIA!

  1. I'm assuming, since you included it, that you have some understanding of focal lengths.

    35mm * 0.77 = 26.95mm (~27mm)

    175mm * 0.77 = 134.75mm (~135mm)

Focal length range after conversion: ~27-135mm

For some visual aid check out Canon's Focal Length Comparison Tool:

    http://www.usa.canon.com/app/html/EFLens...

Start with 35mm, which is the widest your camera currently goes, and compare with the 28mm example which will be roughly where you'll end up.

In my opinion a conversion lens isn't worth $45. You lose a certain degree of resolution with these converters and there's a great risk of vignetting. However, if you need to go wider than what your camera offers then $45 may be cheaper than purchasing a new camera.
