I went onto www.nationalrail.com and they said that the first train from bham leaves at 10:10. So that means I get to Weston-Super-Mare by 12:30 ish and I watnto be there on time. Are these times right? Because it is a Sunday...

The channel 4 site say they run regularly so I'm quite annoyed. Plus the coaches are soooo over priced.

Can anyone help me please??

  1. This is correct the first direct train on a Sunday is the 10.10, it is a Virgin Cross Country service from Manchester to Paignton, so you will need to book a seat as quickly as possible as it will get very crowded. As for reliability, well Virgin Cross Country are one of the companies that get hit badly by engineering workd, problems and operating difficulties beyond the companies control, as there trains run over quite a distance and across track which is sometimes restricted.  I would suggest you take a trip to the nearest rail station and have a word with the Ticket clerk at the station, make sure there are no scheduled engineering works in the area for the Sunday concerned, see if there is an alternate route via a different TOC which you could take if you want to go earlier and enquire how much a ticket will cost and if there are any seats availiable.

    Good Luck

  2. Trains NEVER run on time, and are VERY expensive.

For under £20 you can get a National Express Coach to Bristol, then transfer onto a local bus.
